His accent was so tough to understand that many regarded Arnold as the toughest actor to understand. In a bizarre turn of events, a British actor has replaced Arnold as the toughest actor to understand on screen.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is no longer the toughest actor to understand
For years on end, Arnold Schwarzenegger entertained the audience with his blazing guns and slashing swords. While people loved his on-screen antics, it often proved difficult for them to understand what he was saying. Things got so bad that the American audience considered him to be the toughest to understand. Thankfully (for Arnold) the American audience has found a new actor to replace him as the toughest to understand.

British actor Tom Hardy is now the holder of the unfortunate title. Per a recent study, that Americans found Hardy’s accent, the toughest to understand. Over 50% of people preferred to keep the subtitles on, so they could understand what the actor was saying. Other famous personalities on the infamous list include Ozzy Osbourne, Sofia Vergara, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Describing his accent, Hardy had a playful take on things. He said, “Mellifluous, at best. It’s a collage of places, people, feelings. It is irrelevant. If you understand me, that’s all that matters. It’s a hybrid of wish fulfillment and shame.” Funnily enough, this might be the perfect 75th birthday gift for the Austrian-American bodybuilder.
