Phil Heath is one of the two bodybuilders who presently have 7 Sandows to their name. Winning these titles didn’t come easy to him. It took months of preparations that involved rigorous training and perfectly curated diets. While on most days, Heath stuck with the plan, there were days when even the legend got swayed. Sneaking away from his trainers, sometimes Heath enjoyed his fair share of cheat meals.

In a recent interview, Heath revealed what his go-to cheat meal is. Mouth-watering burgers and deep-fried fries are what this 7x Mr. Olympia couldn’t resist. However, Heath does add his special preference to this otherwise common combo. So what is Phil Heath’s favorite cheat meal?

Recently, USA’s leading telehealth provider, Transcend, sat down for a chat with ‘The Gift’ a.k.a. Phil Heath. Herein, among other things, Heath revealed what his favorite cheat meal is. Turns out the 270 lbs bodybuilder loves cheeseburgers and fries. However, they aren’t the common potato fries. Heath revealed, “A good bacon cheeseburger with steak fries…lots of steak fries. Put chilies on them too.”

While he may indulge himself with these fat-rich oily delicacies from time to time, Heath sticks to a carb-rich diet on a regular basis. Heath once claimed that carbohydrates are the ones that provide energy. Hence depending on the carbohydrate-rich food he can get the bulk that makes him look like a “living zombie” without affecting his health.

Furthermore, the multimillionaire also opened up about the amount he used to spend on his diet while preparing for the competitions.

The cost one pays to be a pro-bodybuilder

It is no news that bodybuilding requires a person to eat more than the average individual. While on average, a regular citizen eats three meals a day, pro bodybuilders eat 6 to 8 times a day. Moreover, their diet requires a certain amount of nutrients which more often than not involves a huge quantity of meat. Naturally, such diets cost a heavy sum of money.

In an interview in 2020, Phil Heath revealed the amount he spent on food during prep in 2015. Heath’s monthly expenditure on food was a whopping $20,000. It is to be noted that this amount is exclusive of the supplements bodybuilders take. Furthermore, he revealed the supplements cost him around the same figures.

Despite spending thousands of dollars on strict diet foods, Heath rewards his tastebuds with junk food from time to time.
