So, what exactly did Dorian Yates say about Frank Zane? Did the theory involve ways of beating Arnold? Let’s find out.
What was Dorian Yates’ theory on Arnold Schwarzenegger and Frank Zane?
Although both bodybuilders had their own strengths and weaknesses, Yates strongly believed that Zane could beat Arnold. Despite his smaller body structure, Yates believed Zane had a superior body. There was always a debate between a larger body structure versus a smaller but better build. Yates addressed this while watching his own clip on the Joe Rogan podcast in 2017. While a lot of preference was given to larger bodies, smaller bodies would often come up with a better definition. That was the case with Frank Zane and Arnold Schwarzenegger as well.
Yates explained, “Frank Zane had a great physique. You know, if he was the same size as Arnold, maybe he would have beat him”. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Even though Zane was one of the three bodybuilders to defeat Arnold, he lost to him later. Nevertheless, the legends remained friends and competed in various championships against each other.
