Arnold Schwarzenegger grew up in poverty but chased his dream of finding success. From winning seven Mr. Olympia titles to earning $20-30 million for each film, the bodybuilding legend earned success and global stardom and still inspires millions. Recently Schwarzenegger asked fans to send their questions through Reddit. In his newsletter, the former Mr. Olympia answered some of the most hard-hitting questions. In his newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club, the Terminator actor slammed charlatans donning the garb of “influencers” to mislead people.

A Reddit user had asked the bodybuilding legend for his opinion on “men’s mental health.” While Arine wrote, “Wow. This is a big one,” he revealed how not just men’s but everyone’s mental health might be at risk today thanks to social media addiction.

In his answer, the seven-time Mr. Olympia acknowledged that recently he has read a lot about people facing a mental health crisis. “I am simple, so I ask myself what changed. Here is what I see: social media,” he wrote. Arnie said that people spend all their time scrolling through their social media feeds, and that’s where the problem lies.

“There are a lot of bulls**t artists and charlatans and outrage salespeople on the internet; the ‘influencers’,” wrote Schwarzenegger. In the latest edition of Arnold’s Pump Club, Schwarzenegger said people like these alter other people’s perspectives on the world to serve their needs.

He wrote that these people “tell you that you have to wear this or you’re worthless, the people who tell you the world is falling… or the shysters who sell you some bogus class about how to be a man.” The bodybuilding icon wrote that no one should listen to such people. Arnold added, “And nobody who is a real leader goes around calling themselves an ‘alpha.’”

According to the bodybuilding legend, “because people lose their sense of purpose scrolling feeds all day.” He wrote that many of the “influencers” on social media tell people “to be scared,” and that “they aren’t good enough.” So to regain confidence and attain better mental health, “We need to sign off and build up confidence in the real world.”

Schwarzenegger advised people to participate in things that help them step out of their comfort zone. He recommended that people take it one step at a time. “You don’t need to project this cr*p on the internet. That’s fake confidence,” he wrote. According to the bodybuilding icon, only “constant reps and feeling uncomfortable,” can help people reclaim the confidence that they have lost in themselves.
