Boyer Coe, one of the most dominant bodybuilders of the 80s, once revealed one such controversy that involved Arnold.

Coe opened up about the 1980 Mr. Olympia contest, where Schwarzenegger won his seventh and last Mr. Olympia title.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was not his usual self before the contest
In an interview with John Hansen in 2018, Boyer Coe revealed why Mr. Olympia 1980 was not telecasted. He also opened up about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s pre-contest jitters.
Coe claimed that Arnold Schwarzenegger was known to be super confident during bodybuilding contests. But during this show, he could notice him getting nervous. Coe said Arnold Schwarzenegger had all the judges on his side, but he was unsure how the audience would react.
He said, “He also looked unbelievably nervous; he was not confident he’s always been noted for.” Although Arnold was one of the most dominant bodybuilders in his prime, he lacked his usual muscle tone in 1980. Arnold’s nervousness was corrected when the audience and other competitors reacted negatively to his win.
