4X Arnold Classic winner Flex Wheeler has battled with over 40 surgeries in his life. Following a kidney transplant, he experienced complications and had to undergo multiple surgeries. Despite these challenges, he remained positive and determined to recover and get back to living a healthy lifestyle.

Throughout his career, Wheeler has spoken openly about his experiences with depression and anxiety. He has been an advocate for mental health awareness and has shared his own journey in the hopes of encouraging others. 

Wheeler opens up about his ‘Dark Thought’ for the first time

In a recent video posted by Wheeler on his Instagram account, he opens up about his struggles with sleepless nights and suicidal thoughts. He reveals that after a point, he realized that he needs to embrace the pain, keep smiling and move on.

He also addressed the many deaths that have been occurring in the bodybuilding and fitness industry. Wheeler urged the viewers to live life with a smile on their faces despite the adversities coming their way. In the caption of the video, Wheeler wrote, “Things happen, and life will smack you right in the face…we all fall. It’s how we get back up and move forward that matters.”

Wheeler even acknowledged the right people he had with him throughout the journey to help him out whenever he was weak. He motivated the audience by conveying the message to stand back up even after failing.

Wheeler wishes to bring a change to people’s lives

The 4X Arnold Classic winner hopes he can improve his clients’ lives by imbibing the lessons he has learned over the years. He also mentioned that he does not want the general public to step on the stage like him, “it’s about helping the guy/gal at work, the parent next door, the college student struggling with it all. Those are my new sweet spots,” said Wheeler.
