In just his first attempt at the Mr. Olympia competition, he came in second behind Schwarzenegger. Further, he also went on to win the Mr. America and Mr. Universe titles.

Lou Ferrigno on how he emulated the Superman
During an interview, Ferrigno opened up about his role model while growing up. He said, “George Reeves, the original superman. I loved him because he was a real man he had a great persona and I made the mistake one time, really believed that he can really fly.”
Further, he went on to add, “I put a red blanket around my neck. I jumped off the second floor of my house. I came crashing on top of a car that was the last time I ever wanted to be superman.”
Lou Ferrigno’s idol, George Reeves, played the role of the Superman in the series Adventures of Superman.

He won many accolades and was widely praised for his commitment to this role.
Ferrigno opens up about maintaining his physique
Last month, Ferrigno took to Instagram to share a picture of his strong physique. Despite age not being on his side, the former Mr. America and Mr. Universe, talked about being dedicated to his fitness regime. In the caption of the Instagram post, he wrote, “I’ve been training for 58 years. Proud to still be able to maintain my physique by staying dedicated at almost 71 years old!”

Apart from his professional bodybuilding career, Ferrigno also pursued a career in acting. The multi-talented personality delivered many notable performances like ‘The Hulk’ in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ action series. Later, he also gave his voice to this character in other Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
