In the interview with Deadline, Jonathan Majors shed light on the difficulties he faced in managing his diet and training during isolation. Being the foodie that he is, the French Fry lover initially found it difficult to give up on carbs. But once he got used to it, the road became comparatively smooth. Further, Majors recalled his first reaction after reading the script about an isolated individual.

“This is impossible. Nobody is going to make it,” thought the Creed III actor. Eventually, he saw it as an opportunity to show his skills to the world. “I gotta do this; this is an opportunity.” However, what came next for the star was self-isolation and an intense workout.

To build a body suitable for the role, Majors had to train 3x a day and force feed himself 7 meals in a day. This was followed by longer sleeping hours so that his body could recover and grow. Describing his experiences, Majors said, “I learned things about my body, my spirit and my emotionality, and how I connect to people. And my need for people.” He further added that training for this movie was a healing experience for him as an actor.

The actor went on to add that to do it correctly, one has to give one’s all to it. This ultimately starts messing with the person’s head as they try to push their limits. “You go twice as hard, you have to sleep twice as long [to grow]. There were moments it felt impossible.” Despite the extreme conditions, Jonathan Majors managed to prepare himself for the role.
