The two bodybuilding legends Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman, share a warm bond, though they were rivals on the stage of Mr. Olympia for almost a decade. They have mutual respect and appreciation for one another, which is rare to witness. Coleman regards Cutler as one of the best bodybuilders in the history of the sport. And their bromance on and off stage is such a treat to witness.
It was even reported that Cutler was upset after his win in 2006 beating the 8x Mr. Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman as he was aware of what the win meant to the latter. He even went ahead and stated that he didn’t beat the best Ronnie Coleman ever and he was just better than ‘The King’ on the day of the competition. Recently Culter was seen speaking to the former English Strongman Eddie Hall, where he revealed the massive weightlifting Coleman did during the training sessions.

Eddie Hall shared a short on his YouTube, which gained a massive 1.1 million views. And need less to say the video was about ‘The King’ Ronnie Coleman. The video titled ‘Ronnie was a Beast,’ featured Jay Cutler, the 4x Mr. Olympia legend. Hall and Cutler discussed Coleman’s workout regime in the video.
Hall questioned Culter about Coleman’s weightlifting strategy and asked, “Ronnie trained predominantly quite heavy, didn’t he?” Culter was quick to confirm and said, “He did!” They trained a lot together and Cutler finds it crazy as he revealed that Coleman would train the same even with those heavyweights. Cutler says, “He trained the same, like the same rest times, the speed, and the intensity even with that heavyweight.”
Cutler would squat to 400lbs for 12 reps and Coleman would do 600lbs for 12 reps. And Coleman would do all the reps with the same intensity, Cutler states that the first rep Coleman would be exactly the same as the last rep.
This would clearly suggest how Ronnie Coleman had aced such a brawny figure.
The Variation in Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman’s workout regime
Both Cutler and Coleman trained differently during their prime years in bodybuilding. In regard to the volume, Coleman had a routine of twice per week for every major body part. In contrast, Cutler concentrated on each body part only once a week.

Cutler was an explorer when it comes to a workout regime and tried different workout regimes before adapting to mostly mechanical workouts. Whereas Coleman always confined himself to standard machine exercises and free-weight basics. They both contradicted each other even when it comes to the pace of the workout. Coleman adhered to a relatively leisurely pace while Cutler was fast-paced. But both managed to flaunt a shredded figure.
