Usually, blockbuster hits get a sequel, and many famous franchises like the Terminator have multiple sequels. Thus, a gripping storyline helps the movie reach its desired heights. But, Schwarzenegger had his qualms about doing the next movie, because of various reasons.
Arnold Schwarzenegger had issues with the Predator franchise
Considered one of the massive hits of the 80s, it was natural to see the next installment arrive in the theaters. However, Arnold rejected it because of the inner technicalities involved with the making of the picture. Usually, actors make cameo appearances in the movies even though they don’t play the leading roles in it. Yet Arnold rejected that idea as well.
“The sad story is that sometimes studios do a great job with creating sequels, and sometimes they really screw it up bad, and it all has to do with greed. You know, they sometimes want to do it really cheap and make as much money as possible, so they don’t hire the right cast or not the right director. … It’s stupid moves to make,” said Arnold.

Unsatisfactory movies
Let’s be honest, apart from the first one, none of them had the charm of the first one. With the recent releases not up to the mark, the 1987 Predator movie made millions at the box office. The budget of the film was $15,000,000. Significantly, the movie received $98,268,458 worldwide, making it one of the best during that era.
Apart from the box-office collections, the gripping storyline and the action scenes were remarkable. Hence, the Predator remains one of the best movies ever made. As for Arnold, he probably made a smart decision to cancel his appearance in the franchise.
