From petty rating fights, it gradually transitioned to critiquing each other’s political careers. The two also engaged in a war of words on Twitter. In 2019, Schwarzenegger’s eldest son, Patrick, called out the business tycoon for his insensitive remarks during the wildfires in California. Now Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver has also raised her voice against Trump.

Lately, Donald Trump has found himself drowning in legal troubles. The former POTUS is currently being investigated for falsifying several business records. In the latest development of the case, Trump has pleaded not guilty to the “34 felony charges.” As the news broke out, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver shared her thoughts with the public.

American political royalty comments on Donald Trump’s arrest

Donald Trump’s recent legal trouble can be dated back to a matter from 2016. This is in relation to Trump’s alleged role in the hush money payment. Arrested on Tuesday for the matter, Trump was charged with 34 felony counts. However, the business magnate pleaded innocent.

As the former President is pleading to criminal charges, American political royalty, Maria Shriver, has voiced her thoughts. A few hours ago, Shriver took to Twitter by sharing an NBC news tweet to rejoice over Trump meeting his fate. “What a day,” wrote Shriver in her tweet.

She continued, “It’s sobering, it’s sad, it’s been a long time coming. No one is above the law. So many other thoughts.” In another Tweet, Shriver claimed that everything has changed since Trump entered the political world.

Maria Shriver believes Americans deserve better

Growing up as a member of the Kennedy family, Shriver knows the in & out of the political world all too well. Speaking from her experience in politics and media, Shriver wrote, “34 felony charges. 34 felony charges. Our politics and the media for that matter have never been the same since this man stepped into the political arena.”

Furthermore, she asserts Americans do not deserve such leaders. “We the people deserve so much better. We deserve leaders with integrity, with honor, who put public service above all else.” Judging from the comments section of Shriver’s tweet, it’s safe to say that Americans agree with her take.
