“It’s Not Really My Scene”: Despite His Hollywood Rules, Arnold Schwarzenegger Makes a Huge Exception for Millionaire James Cameron

The Terminator series gave the audience one of the most iconic actors – Arnold Schwarzenegger. But behind the curtains emerged a long-lasting friendship between director James Cameron and the actor. The duo went on to create more movies and have always boasted of a good bond between them. So when Cameron requested Schwarzenegger for something, the legend had to oblige.

Schwarzenegger wasn’t one for movie premieres. Despite receiving invitations to several, the star never felt like it was his type of event. However, when his dear friend Cameron released his latest installment in the Avatar series, the star couldn’t say no to him.

In his latest newsletter, Schwarzenegger revealed how he was never enthusiastic about movie premiers. Although he has received invitations for several, he explained, “it’s not really my scene”. However, his friend and famous director, James Cameron, made the cut to his list of exceptions. Schwarzenegger not only shares a good bond with Cameron, but he also respects and admires his vision and work. Therefore, when the director came up with the much-awaited sequel of his movie series, Avatar, the star had no option but to go and watch it.

Since it was Christmas, Schwarzenegger and his family went to the premiere. He recalled visiting Cameron on set during the shoot of the latest Avatar movie, and he was excited. After all, one mustn’t doubt the vision of James Cameron. During the premiere, the star met Cameron’s wife, Susie, who warned the celebrity to get some tissues for the emotional moments.

It turned out that Schwarzenegger could not stop raving about it. He wrote, “I don’t want to give anything away, but I LOVED the movie.” The star was in awe of the director’s vision and execution of his idea. And Susie’s advice came in handy too, as the legend got emotional throughout the movie.

Did Arnold and Cameron ever fight?

Cameron and Schwarzenegger have been good friends for a while and fans often wonder if they ever got into a tussle. While they might not have had arguments, Cameron did yell at Schwarzenegger once, regarding one of his most iconic dialogues.

While speaking to host Howard Stern on his show, Schwarzenegger recalled he was practicing his famous dialogue, “I’ll be back”. However, the star kept going back and forth with the director regarding the choice of words and their delivery. Cameron finally lost his cool and chided the star, saying “say the f*****g line!”. This, however, did not affect their friendship since both were used to each other’s antics.
