The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is a tradition of Washington D.C. This year’s event was particularly special after it kickstarted with an addressal from bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former governor of California reflected on the significance of media personnel, who in his view, work for the truth. The Austrian Oak, moreover, invited a few other guests into the spotlight.
Besides his opening address, the video featured three special appearances moments later. Actor, Danny DeVito popped up along with the athlete’s favorite pets, Lulu and Whiskey. The clip depicted DeVito feeding crackers to the animals, ending the snippet on a hilarious note.
Arnold Schwarzenegger puts the media under the spotlight

As per the source, the 75-year-old legend took the stage virtually to discuss how the “free press” of the country has maintained the foundation of the nation, which is, freedom. He began by repeatedly thanking the media, crediting them for encouraging the country’s success and also his own.

“I just simply wanted to say thank you thank you thank you to all of you gathered here today because our country wouldn’t be the shining beacon of freedom that welcomes people like me without the free press, let’s be honest about that. And tonight’s message of course sends a powerful message…now I wouldn’t be the Arnold that you know, without the press, that’s a fact,” Schwarzenegger shared.
Furthermore, the athlete amusingly noted that even though the media often pick on questions that “annoyed the hell out of him”, he reminds himself of the purpose of their work. He revealed, “You’re the ally of the people. Never, ever stop shining a light on the truth and informing the public.”

During the final few seconds of the video, The Austrian Oak was accompanied by his actor buddy, Danny DeVito, his pet donkey, Lulu, and Whiskey, his horse. Setting the mood for a fun and lively event. “I’m very proud of all of you, and it’s not just me, it’s Lulu, whiskey, and my twin brother, Danny DeVito, we’re all proud of you,” he concluded while inviting WHCA President and NPR co-host, Tamara Keith.
