With only three weeks left to the long-awaited Arnold Classic 2023, bodybuilding fans are excited. The final list of contenders and tickets to the show is published. Even bodybuilders are preparing their last-minute routines as the world is ready to experience the best. Recently, veteran bodybuilder Jay Cutler refers to this year’s Arnold Classic and shared his excitement. The prize money amused the fans, as well as the 4-times Mr. Olympia. It is not surprising that Cutler is excited for the 2023 edition for, time and again, he credited the Classic to be his stepping stone in the sport.

The former IFBB professional was wowed over the bizarre prize money amount and hinted that he would choose that money over cars as a prize. Let’s check out what did he say.

Jay Cutler flatters over this year’s Classic

In just a few weeks’ time, the city of Columbus, Ohio will see the intriguing competition of the Arnold Classic. Justin Rodriguez, Patrick Moore, William Bonac, Shaun Clarida, Samson Dauda, Kamal Elgargni, Nick Walker, Chinedu Andrew Obiekea, and Akim Williams are the participants competing for the prestigious title. Lately, he shared a video on his YouTube channel, where Cutler addressed his views about the contest. He exclaimed, “And now we’re gonna have a pretty good battle at the Arnold Classic and It’s $300,000 bro!”

 

Making a conversation with his photographer, Cutler talked about the most attractive fact in this year’s competition. The former Mr. O asked, “What do you think, is Walker going to repeat or is he gonna have some competition? What about Shaun Clarida? He could do some damage, dude.” Evidently, he is well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the contestants.

Sharing his view of the other new entries, Cutler stated, “I don’t know if they’ll let anyone else because remember it’s still a contest where they have to do the promotion, and they’ve every guy they’ve announced, Patrick Moore entered…it’s great to see him. I think he was sidelined with an injury. So, he’s come back now…It’s been a couple of years. I mean, we saw him win the California once or twice.” Definitely, the legend is looking forward to the contest that constantly reminds him of his era.

His time in the Arnold Classics

The Quad Stomper retired from professional bodybuilding in 2016. Though he never thought of participating in Arnold’s, it is true that he was thankful for the stage that gave him recognition internationally. In addition, he held the title for three years in a row starting from 2002. He dominated the stage and ended up as the winner eclipsing many veterans.

Definitely, everything has changed a lot after his time—the stage, the competition, even the hiked prize money. In the video, he hilariously added, “I wish they would have given me the option to take the cash or the cars, and I would have taken the cash.” Of course, the excitement of the competition is such that it doesn’t limit only to the participants. The veterans too, can’t resist the tension. It’s just a matter of time to see who will emerge triumphant.
