He entered the bodybuilding world and conquered it. He penetrated the acting world and shined bright in it. And finally, he stepped into the political world and became a leader of the people. The iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger is a man who’s worn many hats and has always rocked in them.

While Arnold became a prominent figure in various fields, he also dabbled in a few others. One such field was the sport of golf. During an interview with the famous Jay Leno, Schwarzenegger once revealed how a purchase led to him ruining his game.

Back in the ’90s, Arnold Schwarzenegger was arguably one of the most famous people on the planet. His bodybuilding accolades, combined with his tremendously hit movies, translated into giving him global stardom. During this period, he appeared on a famous talk show hosted by Jay Leno, where the two discussed one of Arnold’s lesser-known skills that may have become another feather in his cap.

While discussing various topics, the subject of Schwarzenegger playing golf came up. Leno asked him, “Is this true? I heard that you were the one that bought President Kennedy’s golf clubs at that auction?” To which he replied, “That is absolutely true.” Schwarzenegger admitted he paid a whopping $700,000 on the set and that “it destroyed my golf game.”

Arnold added, “I was a pretty good golf player. But now I go out there playing golf, and every time I think about that price, I’m afraid to swing!” He further admitted “off the record” that it was bogus to spend that much money on a set of golf clubs when he could have spent it on something else.

While we haven’t seen Schwarzenegger taking a swing at the golf course often, he once engaged in a game of golf with boxing legend Mike Tyson.

In April 2021, Schwarzenegger invited Mike Tyson and UFC icon Henry Cejudo to his house. There, Arnold and Tyson engaged in a friendly game of mini golf and chess. Cejudo filmed a video of their time in Schwarzenegger’s house in Los Angeles. Not only did the two icons play some crazy golf, but they also engaged in an intense game of chess.
