Years after a rough divorce, Arnold Schwarzenegger began dating physical therapist Heather Milligan in 2013. Since then, it’s been almost a decade of romance for the former bodybuilder. However, when it comes to taking things to the next level, the star might be hesitant. Schwarzenegger has always avoided talks about a second marriage, and his expensive divorce might be one to blame for it.
In a statement to Radar Online, an insider source mentioned how Schwarzenegger might be steering clear of the altar due to the fear of an expensive settlement. While neither the star nor Milligan confirmed this, marriage may not be in the cards yet.

After applying for divorce in 2011, ex-wife Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger split. Despite the public separation, they remained cordial and took care of their four children. Meanwhile, in 2013, Schwarzenegger met the founder of Elite Orthosport – Heather Milligan and the two began dating. It’s now been more than 9 years since the couple got together, and fans have been wondering if the wedding bells might ring anytime soon.
However, the Terminator star has avoided discussing the next step. In 2021, he and Shriver finally came up with a settlement that finalized their divorce. The settlement cost Arnold about half of his lifetime earnings, including pension plans. Many media outlets estimated this to be around $400 million. Evidently, marriage has been a costly affair for the star.

This wasn’t the first time Arnold denied marriage plans
In 2019, when he returned to the silver screen with Terminator Dark Fate, the star addressed his ongoing relationship with Milligan and thoughts on a second marriage.
The star quoted his mother’s instance, when his father passed away in 1972. When he asked his mother if she would get married again, she replied that she wouldn’t “wash another guy’s underwear” after his father’s. Schwarzenegger seems to have maintained a similar stance, wherein he denied going through marriage for the second time. Despite these reports, the couple seems to be going strong and even travelled to Austria recently for the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative.
