Amidst the OTT platforms providing supremely personalized content, an auction sold the first print VHS tape of the blockbuster action flick, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the titular role, for a whopping $32,500.

Set in the backdrop of a dystopian, futuristic setting, the movie has hooked generations. The Terminator is not only every action-movie buff’s favorite but also an inspiration for moviemakers.

With the OTT content dominating the media realm, the VHS copy of the action flick, has still managed to rack up $32,500 in an online auction of Comic Connect. The 107-minute action saga became one of the biggest blockbusters of it’s time. The franchise saw its latest release in 2019, with the ‘Terminator- Dark Fate’. It starred the iconic duo Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, after a long time.

According to TMZ’s interview with the COO of ComicConnect, the VHS was bought within 3 days of being on the market. It was rated 9s and 10s on its preservation and was in “nearly-perfect condition.” Undoubtedly, the vintage copy is more than just a possession or memory. Besides, the sale of VHS copies has been slowly rising, probably owing to nostalgia.

The Terminator earned monstrous returns of $78.3 million at the box office against its lean budget of $6.4 million. Arnold Schwarzenegger as the time-travelling ‘Terminator’, who goes on a killing spree, significantly impacted the 80s.
