Known to interact with fans on various social media platforms, Schwarzenegger recently responded to a fan’s doubts. He often takes to Twitter to share some personal motivation, and this time, he did so with a rare picture of himself.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was a pro since he was 19
With his daily newsletter Pump Daily, Schwarzenegger regularly takes efforts to push his fans towards working out for their own good. He even interacts with them daily, offering advice and answering questions surrounding fitness. Recently, he got the chance to share a personal instance with a fan while reading up on their theory.

The question was concerned with Schwarzenegger’s preferences during deadlifts. A fan asked the former bodybuilder his thoughts on the use of wrist straps for deadlifting weights. The user explained that he believed in gradually building up forearm strength instead of using assistance in the form of straps. And surprisingly, Schwarzenegger agreed to this!

Affirming the fan’s theory, the star responded that he never used straps while deadlifting. He admitted, “I’m old school…so your strategy is in line with mine!”. Along with this, Schwarzenegger attached a photo from 1966, where he was captured picking up weights. The caption near the picture described the star’s achievements in weightlifting, highlighting how he deadlifted 616 pounds at the age of 19!

Danna shared a harsh truth that helped him work consistently. He admitted, “It’s better to be the fattest person in the gym than the fattest person in the funeral home”. Going from over 400 pounds to 320 pounds, Danna’s story inspired Schwarzenegger, and the star featured him in his newsletter. Danna encouraged those like him to trudge forth despite online negativity.
