Ronnie Coleman is a phenom in the field of bodybuilding. The 8-time Mr. Olympia had one goal: he breathed every moment throughout his competitive career, to become the best in his sport. He practiced stringent diets and pushed hard to build muscle and develop a well-conditioned, massive physique. But the other side of his magnificent career is the chronic pain he suffers as a result of injuries and surgeries.

Coleman sensed something went wrong while he was working out during his peak phase. Regardless, he continued to work out and landed himself in an irreparable state after a decade. Despite multiple surgeries, Coleman couldn’t restore his mobility. Besides, he lost most of his mobility. He is either seen with crutches or a wheelchair. In a 2016 Instagram post after his 11-hour-long surgery, the bodybuilding legend shared his only regret in life.

Coleman is renowned for the behemoth physique he developed through his incredible deadlifts and powerlifting. He trained hard, squatted, and lifted hundreds of pounds. While several modern bodybuilders look up to him for inspiration, he posed a question in his Instagram post that left his fans emotional.

“I’m 8x Mr.Olympia and I can’t walk.” The video features two women supporting Coleman to make a step. He captioned it, “So you guys still wanna be like me, you still want to have the same work ethic is I had.” He endured enormous pain and an 11-hour-long surgery. “Do I have any regrets?”
He admitted he would change one thing if he had a chance to do it all over again. When he squatted 800lbs, “I would do 4 reps instead of 2.” Describing it as the only regret in his career, he shared it haunted him for not attempting 4 as “the coward in me only did 2.”
Coleman continues to pursue his bodybuilding passion
It is undeniable that bodybuilding is at the very core of the legend’s existence. Neither surgeries nor injuries can distance him from his passion. The 58-year-old still hits the gym but limits himself to a minimal workout.

However, he is spreading the joy of maintaining fitness through his supplement company and his latest fitness app, ‘Yeah Buddy.’ It allows users to work out alongside AI-driven characters that resemble the ‘Big Ron’ during his prime.
