In an instance of legend admiring a legend, eight-time Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel, reacting to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s old-school lifts. The video portrayed a vintage interview of the bodybuilding icon, and The King had many insights to share while watching the clips.

A particularly interesting bit was when Schwarzenegger elucidated the importance of pushing yourself hard. Speaking of himself, he claimed that despite the body’s resistance to the intense workouts, he would never faint in the gym. Unsurprisingly, Coleman couldn’t help but agree to his revelations.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s motivation was unhindered even back then. In the video further, he shared that the last few reps of a workout are the most effective while muscle building, and that’s what differentiates a champion from the others. “This last two or three repetitions or four repetitions, that’s what makes the muscle grow. And that divides one from a champion and one from not being a champion,” he said.

The seven-time Mr. Olympia claimed that if a person is unable to power through this period, it’s all in vain. As per him, “What most people like isn’t this having the guts.” “No pain no gain…its what we always saying,” the 58-year-old champion enthusiastically agreed. Steering the conversation towards his efforts, Schwarzenegger declared, “The guts to go in and just say I go through, I don’t care what happens, you know it aches, if i fall down I have no fear of fainting in the gym.”

Moments later, Coleman was asked if he “sees” Schwarzenegger as being the G.O.A.T. To which he responded, “I don’t know, one of them.” By the same token, the former athlete once dedicated a post to Schwarzenegger’s iconic persona while disclosing a regret.

Ronnie Coleman regretted not being able to compete beside Arnold Schwarzenegger

Taking to his Instagram, the IFBB pro shared an impressive B&W picture of the two legends flaunting their mighty proportions along with a perceptive caption illustrating the backstory of the picture. It was a glimpse from Coleman’s fourth Mr. Olympia win in 2001, whereas Arnie’s was from 1973. The latter also won his fourth that year. Hence, Coleman wrote, “It would have been an honor to compete alongside @schwarzenegger.”
