Six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates is arguably one of the best bodybuilding champions of all time. As a bodybuilder with six consecutive titles, Yates shares the stage with veterans like Ronnie Coleman, Lee Haney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Phil Heath. In fact, before winning his first title in 1992, Dorian was runner-up in 1991, when Phil Heath won his eighth title. Moreover, he is hugely famous for his disciplined bodybuilding style, which startled everyone during his career. Yates is also known to have revolutionized bodybuilding standards with body mass and conditioning.

Dorian Yates was a practitioner of high-intensity training. He formulated his own approach to bodybuilding, known as the Blood and Guts method. In an interview in 2019 with bodybuilding.com, Yates revealed his strategy for winning Mr. Olympia. He said, “Yes probably. My philosophy was “I will be so f*cking good they can’t deny me.”

He also added, “That was my approach. I get a bit annoyed about people always complaining about their placing’s because they “Haven’t been around long enough,” or “Haven’t payed their dues,” or “Don’t know the right people and it is all politics.” I just think it is BS and I proved that so I could back that up.”

Throughout his career, the bodybuilder remained very stubborn and refused to give up, no matter the situation. He also overcame many injuries. However, the one that forced him to give up was a triceps tendon injury.
