Ronnie Coleman uploaded a video of himself chatting with Giles Thomas, where he spoke about the stem cell treatment he has been receiving to deal with his back issues. Coleman started the treatment nearly a year ago, starting with twice every four months, which showed great results. However, Coleman took a break of nearly nine months, thinking he won’t be needing the injections anymore. This brought his condition back to ground zero and caused more pain than he had previously suffered.

Eventually, Coleman crawled his way back to the treatment one last time. It didn’t take more than three days for the pain to disappear again. The King said, “I was in so much pain. Yeah, that was the third one. I’ve done three so far. That was the third one. I was in so much pain I couldn’t even sleep at night. Then, like I said, he added a new type of treatment to the stem cells. We would also do hyperbaric chamber sessions. We were doing two 45-minute sessions a day for like five days, I think.”

The treatment ultimately helped in improving Coleman’s stem cell function of healing, thereby reducing the pain he felt. While Coleman is nursing himself back to good health, his injuries have left a lasting effect on the bodybuilding world. According to the 8x Mr. Olympia, after seeing his injuries, the young bodybuilders aren’t lifting heavy weights anymore.

Fans believe that Coleman’s extreme weight training was what caused his condition to worsen. However, rubbishing the theory, The King clarified that his back issues had started even before he had stepped foot in the bodybuilding world. Coleman revealed he first injured his back during his sophomore year while playing football. Following this, he even sustained a neck injury.

Due to these injuries, Ronnie Coleman had to visit a chiropractor nearly every day throughout his college life until he took up bodybuilding. He further revealed that contrary to popular belief, weight training helped him strengthen his back instead of injuring it.
