“I Don’t Have Any Irrational Behavior”: Ex-police Officer and Bodybuilding King, Ronnie Coleman, Once Revealed He Never Had to Take Any Drug Tests

Ronnie Coleman was a Police officer before and during his professional bodybuilding career as well. He served the Arlington Police department from 1989 to 2003. Even after winning Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia titles, he continued being a police officer. He has said that he did it as he liked his job and the extra perks of the job.

In an old interview, Ronnie disclosed about the drug tests in the bodybuilding and police department. Coleman talked about his views on the use of artificial substances in bodybuilding. Moreover, he revealed the reasons for drug tests being taken in the department.

Ronnie Coleman remained rationally behaved in his career

Ronnie Coleman started serving the Arlington police department when he was 25 years old. He loved his job working as a police officer. Furthermore, Coleman began professional training for bodybuilding one year later. In the interview, he was asked, “As a policeman, do they ask you to take drug tests also?”

Coleman replied, “Well, you have to take a drug test to get in but after that, you know only if they see some kind of irrational behavior then they will ask you to take one, but I don’t have any kind of irrational behavior. I don’t have any drugs making me do irrational things, therefore I don’t have to take any tests.”

When someone loves his job, he remains true to it. Coleman has revealed many times the sacrifices he made because of being a police officer. It wasn’t like he never wished to party. He confessed he wanted to be true to his occupation and sacrificed his desires to be loyal to his job.

Did Coleman use steroids later in his career?

Ronnie Coleman has also once disclosed the traditional use of steroids in bodybuilding. However, he explained he only used the steroids prescribed by the professionals and didn’t break any rules. Coleman further said the steroids were prescribed in such a manner they hadn’t shown any adverse effect on him.

Although many people blame his excess training and use of steroids for his recurrent injuries. But he claims that his liver, heart, and kidneys are totally fit, other than his back issues.
