Schwarzenegger wasn’t afraid to perform stunts or fight villains. But what did scare him was a bikini wax session in 1978! So much so that the star would recall his fear multiple times during various interviews. It turns out that before shooting for one of his hits, Conan the Barbarian, Schwarzenegger decided to get a bikini wax. And the experience scarred him for his whole life.
“I am petrified of bikini waxing. I had a very bad experience in 1978” exclaimed Schwarzenegger. Since then, the Terminator’s tryst with the hair-removal method has often been a part of his movie discussions. It changed in 2003 after he announced a new feather he wished to place upon his hat – his political ambitions.
While announcing his candidacy for the governor of California, Schwarzenegger referenced his bikini wax session once again. However this time, the legend weirdly compared it with his political dreams. Talking about both the experiences and their difficulty, Schwarzenegger mentioned how running for office was one of his toughest decisions, closely followed by his bikini wax session.

How did Schwarzenegger’s decision to run for office affect his personal front?
Although announcing his candidacy was a huge step for the star, his challenges didn’t end there. Schwarzenegger had a family to look after, which included his then-wife, Maria Shriver, and his four children. During his tenure, he shockingly refused to accept a salary in an attempt to give back to society.
However, his now ex-wife Shriver was open about her struggles as the First Lady. One of the couple’s main concerns was their children’s privacy. With various rumors floating around and the dangers of paparazzi hounding her children, Shriver made sure to equip them with support and communication whenever they felt the need. Schwarzenegger’s candidacy carried many anecdotes but went down as one of the most iconic moments in history.
