Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay is an Egyptian bodybuilder who is the two-time consecutive winner of the Mr. Olympia title. Moreover, he will be presenting his strong contention once again. However, it is predicted, this year’s Mr. Olympia will be one of the most interesting in the 57-year history of the title.

It will be exciting to watch the contenders fighting for the title. However, while talking with the 8x Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman, Ramy disclosed the fierce mentality he got from the struggles that make him stand out. He also opened up about his preparations for this year’s competition.
Does Big Ramy have the same mentality as Ronnie Coleman?
It’s not about Ramy or Ronnie, but the winners all together have a mentality that helps them conquer their aims. While talking with the legendary bodybuilder, the defending champion explains the elite mentality he pursues that helps him to emerge as the champion. Coleman asked Ramy about his occupation before bodybuilding. Moreover, he asked, “So have you always wanted to be a bodybuilder?”

Ramy replied, “I was a fisherman before bodybuilding.” He continued, “I don’t thinking about that. I am from, you know, a poor family. I am never thinking about that need to be a bodybuilder or anything else, but I used to be better in my life.”
Ramy added, “When I am working in fisherman, I need to be best one in the world. Best one catch the big fish in the hook, they need to have more ships in the sea for myself. And when I come to be a bodybuilder I think yeah, I feel it’s my place and I need to be the best. I’m working for that. I have that dream every day.”

Ramy is confident about his preparation
On one hand, critics and former bodybuilders are assuming this year’s competition to be the closest one. Meanwhile, the reigning champion is confident about his preparation. Ramy feels he wasn’t at his best in the last year’s Mr. Olympia because of some issues he had all year before that competition.

However, he feels this year he has been completely dedicated to bodybuilding. Moreover, he has worked extremely hard to attain the physique. He said, “I think this is the best prep I did in my life”. Other than Ramy, Coleman also seems to agree with the reigning champion. Coleman said, “I think you are locked to win this.”
