Bodybuilding, similar to other lines of professions, has become a popular hobby for people looking to earn fame online. Many famous influencers like Logan Paul, KSI, and others have built impressive physiques. In the quest to build such physiques, many young teenagers are hitting the gym at a young age. While exercising benefits your health, a good number of teens are using steroids to get faster results. Wannabe fitness influencers prefer not to move their lazybones and instead resort to injecting testosterone, growth hormones, and modern substances like SARMS.

20-year-old Makaia Childress fell prey to the short-termed glory of taking shortcuts and dedicated a fair amount of hard work to gathering and injecting substances. Reality caught up to him and he nearly paid with his life for it. While the 20-year-old put on muscle, lost body fat, and became shredded, he had a cardiac arrest at the end of the course. Childress described his horrifying heart issues on social media.

Building a physique takes years of dedication and countless hours inside the gym. It also takes immense discipline. Someone serious about bodybuilding needs to ensure that they are eating healthily and getting enough sleep, among other things. However, many people like Makaia Childress are turning to PEDs.

In his viral TikTok video, the 20-year-old revealed he had been taking steroids for five years, which implies he started using steroids when he was 15. “I was a mass monster at one point… and now I suffer the consequences from abusing PEDs,” said the young fitness influencer. Makaia Childress admitted to abusing “SARMS, Human Growth Hormone, everything you could possibly imagine.”

While using these substances got him the physique he wanted, every instance that hindered a natural course of training events jolted him towards a dark alley. “I’m age 20 and I just got a heart attack from taking it for so long with hardly any rest breaks,” said Childress. He also spoke about the horrifying side effects. According to Childress, normal hearts squeeze at 55-60% of their max capacity. “Mine is now squeezing at 25% and because of that, a blood clot formed in my heart. It traveled up into the arteries of my heart. That’s very serious. I almost died,” said Childress in the video. This goes to say that substance abuse is a concern too contestable and a problem that runs too deep.

Bodybuilding and steroids

It’s an open secret that bodybuilders use steroids. While many still deny using PEDs, some of the top bodybuilders in the world have admitted to using PEDs. People’s Champ and bronze medalist at the 2022 Mr. Olympia Nick Walker has admitted to using steroids. Even four-time Classic Physique Champion Chris Bumstead has talked about steroids in a YouTube video.
