How Lou Ferrigno would have helped ‘The Myth’
Talking about his bodybuilder picks from the 60s, Lou Ferrigno notably mentioned Sergio Oliva. The icon genuinely complimented the beast and called him beautifully built and strong. Oliva was one of the legendary bodybuilders who won the Mr. Olympia title thrice. He is also well-known for his victory against the bodybuilding pioneer, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

However, Ferrigno also mentioned The Myth’s true nature. Talking about his idol’s shortcomings, he mentioned how Sergio had the potential to make it big in the industry, but he wasn’t a good businessman. While Sergio was known to be one of the few who beat Arnold, he was also known to be a stubborn man. Lou talked about how he would have loved to help the legend. He recalled, “He could have been one of the greatest ambassadors of the sport, but I think he was his own worst enemy”.
The bodybuilder-turned-actor also strongly believed that his stubborn nature hurt his publicity and career. He reiterated that had the legend been more accepting of wisdom from others, he would’ve contributed better towards the sport.

Nevertheless, Ferrigno still maintained that Sergio Oliva deserved all the love and appreciation. The superstar athlete also talked about his life and how ‘Hulk’ worked out for him. Today, he’s not only the beloved bodybuilder of the world, but he is also the beloved ‘Incredible Hulk’ for comic fans.
