The chiseled physique and impressive achievements in the world of bodybuilding have earned Dorian Yates a legendary status among fitness enthusiasts. But behind the glitz and glamour of his success, Yates has had to overcome a long list of injuries throughout his career. However, veteran fitness coach Drew Baye, suggests that Yates could have avoided many of these injuries by making small changes in his workout approach.

According to Bayes, things would have been different if Yates had prioritized correct form over jerking heavy weights during his workouts. The latest comments made by the veteran coach have put him in the limelight as he garnered a lot of attention from the bodybuilding community.

Dorian Yates, has inspired many aspiring bodybuilders to push their limits and achieve greatness in the gym. Baye expressed his admiration for Yates’ achievements and his commitment to raising the level of training. “The guy trains as hard as anybody and harder than most people can conceive.”, he said. However, despite giving full credit to Yates’ hard work in training, fitness coach Drew Baye claims that many injuries could’ve been easily prevented with the proper focus on his form. 

Baye acknowledged that Dorian Yates’ training style, which focused on heavy, intense workouts, played a significant role in the injuries he faced during his career. In a video shared on Jay Vincent’s Youtube channel, Baye said, “But his form was absolutely sh*t.”. He also suggested that Dorian should’ve focussed more on maintaining a strict form instead of putting an excessive focus on lifting heavy.

“If he had just slowed down and performed these exercises with much stricter form. He never would have had all those injuries.”, Baye added.  With his extensive experience as a fitness coach, Baye emphasizes the importance of proper form in bodybuilding. He suggests that jerking heavy weights can increase the risk of injuries.

Baye debunked a long myth

As a fitness coach with years of experience in the industry, Drew Baye has seen his fair share of injuries in clients who prioritize lifting heavy weights over proper form. In a recent interview, he broke the long-prevailing myth that intense training inevitably leads to injuries.

Baye challenged this widely held myth and sheds light on how intense training can be injury-free when executed with proper form. He said that using the correct form while performing exercises is crucial in preventing injuries. “You can train as hard as humanly possible and never injure yourself as long as you are positioning your body correctly”, Baye emphasized.
