Lee Haney was stunned by Phil Heath’s legacy

It is no secret that before bodybuilding, Heath was a well-known basketball player. Hence, when a lean and small-shouldered Heath changed his career path to bodybuilding, many were shocked. However, Heath proved everybody wrong with his major body transformation and even left the “Total-Lee Awesome” shocked.

Hence, when Haney appeared on Generation Iron for a candid interview, he could not stop praising Heath. The bodybuilder said, “You know as you look at Phil’s background. Man! He was a basketball God. I mean how do you go from basketball to bodybuilding?”

If calling Heath basketball God was not enough, Haney further explained why “The Gift” was also an incredible bodybuilder. “Phil did that, and again it all has to do with heart, and desire, and determination. He took what wasn’t supposed to be and turned it into something incredible enough to win the greatest bodybuilding column in the world, consecutive times, seven times, that’s incredible,” stated the legend.

Haney also explained how Heath did not have a great physical structure like him or Ronnie Coleman, yet Heath worked towards building one of the most amazing bodies in the sport. Even after winning seven Mr. Olympia titles, Heath still aims for more.
