Once, Robby Robinson made a bold statement about the rising legend Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay and his career. But why did Robinson make this kind of statement, which can cause a lot of controversies? Elssbiay’s career has just taken a peak and he is hungry for the Mr. Olympia’s title.

Mamdouh Elssbiay, also known as ‘Big Ramy’, is an Egyptian IFBB professional bodybuilder. He is currently the defending champion of the Mr. Olympia title, and he will be participating in the 2022 Mr. Olympia too. Robby Robinson was one of the most popular golden-era bodybuilders and showing his concern about Big Ramy kind of makes sense. While trying to get bigger and better, Robinson worries that Big Ramy may have lost track.

The concern for Big Ramy

On the RX Muscle Instagram post in 2019, Big Ramy hinted at shutting it down for the year and not doing the Olympia. Robinson commented“Ramy should quit be he kills himself for something that really has no meaning Mr. Olympia,” and continued, “Why you guys are cheer on death wish……CRAZY.” 

In the golden era, bodybuilders like Robby Robinson, where 200 pounds was considered to be huge. It is common for anyone to be surprised as Big Ramy, who is a leading bodybuilder in the modern era, has around 300 pounds.

The comment might have sounded pretty blunt, but Robinson had no bad intentions toward Big Ramy. While Robinson has himself won Mr. Olympia so many times, claiming that it has no value was an interesting perspective.

A lot of people talk about Big Ramy’s physique, but Robby Robinson is arguably the first one from the golden era who spoke about this issue.

What’s next for Mamdouh Elssbiay?

A small physique doesn’t mean losing all the muscles in the body. But Big Ramy doesn’t care about those. Currently, he is preparing for the next Olympia that will be held in December 2022.

Despite weighing over 330 pounds, Big Ramy is a living example of an almost perfect huge body. All his veins and muscles are visible.

Big Ramy has grown a lot since the last Olympia and this time the defending champion is looking very serious about not letting anybody grab his title from him.
