Andrew Jacked was an unknown face at the beginning of the year. However, the IFBB pro impressed everyone after winning the Arnold Classic UK and the Tampa Pro. Appearing on the latest episode of Denis James’ The Menace Podcast, the IFBB pro’s coach revealed what happened to Obiekea four weeks before his Mr. Olympia debut.
Andrew Jacked wanted to cancel his Mr. Olympia debut
Andrew Jacked coach George Farah appeared as a guest on The Menace Podcast. The three hosts, Denis James, Chris Cormier, and Milos Sarcev, joined him. During their conversation, Farah revealed that Chinedu Andrew Obiekea was sick during the Mr. Olympia contest. “The guy was on the stage… He had a 102-degree fever,” the veteran coach told the trio.

Farah also said the debutant already had asthma. “Then, all of a sudden, he got freaking bronchitis,” said Farah. The veteran coach said the IFBB pro fell so sick he wanted to cancel his debut. “George, I don’t want to go and let them see me like this.” Andrew Jacked told his coach over the phone. However, Farah encouraged his pupil not to pull out.
Despite falling sick, Obiekea decided to compete. The veteran coach praised his pupils for cracking the top 10 and placing 8th despite being ill. “To me, it’s a win,” said Farah during the podcast. Denis James said he had thought something was off after an interview where the rookie bodybuilder talked about doing better in 2023.
Denis James praised the humble giant
James praised the rising bodybuilding star and called him “the humble giant.” James also put the enormity of Obiekea’s achievement in perspective. Andrew Jacked won his pro card, two consecutive pro shows, defeated veteran bodybuilders, and placed eighth in his first Mr. Olympia in one year.
