The bodybuilding legend and one of Arnold’s closest friends, Frank Zane, once revealed Arnold’s Achilles heel. Zane mentioned in an interview that Arnold struggled a lot with math.
Arnold Schwarzenegger struggled with learning math
In 2019, Frank Zane appeared in an interview with Escape Fitness. The host and Frank talked about everything from the ‘Pumping iron’ era to Frank’s relationship with Arnold Schwarzenegger. At a later point in the talk, the host asked Frank about his most distinctive experience with Arnold. On this, Frank recalled, “Arnold was going to Santa Monica city college and I helped him with his math.”

While adding details to the episode, Frank joked, “he was taking college algebra. He didn’t had a clue”. But, as his close-knit friend, Frank helped Arnold in learning to solve problems in Algebra. “I don’t like to study either, but this is how you do it,” Frank said to Arnold. Frank concluded the whole encounter by adding, “I helped him with that.”
Frank also revealed, he and Arnold used to work out together and on many occasions, Arnold helped Frank with different prompts and techniques.
Clearly, as per Frank’s revelations, Arnold and Frank shared rather a strong bond as they helped each other by strengthening each other’s weak spots.

Frank Zane and Arnold’s friendship
Frank and Arnold might be the competitors during their prime, but when they are not inside the competition arena, they were the true epitome of friendship. The friendship that ignited during Mr. Olympia’s contest speaks volumes to date. Even Frank and Arnold shared an apartment together. Both of them learned different prompts and styles while training alongside each other in California. And, whenever the opportunity arises, they speak highly of one another.
