His well-developed triceps and perfectly developed abdominal muscles not only helped him defeat Arnold Schwarzenegger but also helped him win the Lifetime Achievement award at Arnold Classic. Continuing to spread his pearls of wisdom after retirement, Zane explained in his blog how “Gaining muscles isn’t that difficult if you know how to do it”.
Further, he hinted that the tough part was to develop the muscles proportionately in the correct places. His perspective is intriguing since there is no measurement tool to help understand whether the muscles are proportionally built and symmetrical. Suggesting fans an effective strategy to develop and measure proportional muscles, the bodybuilding legend described how fans can set goals for them to achieve an ideal physique.

‘The Chemist’ related how only photographs can help build muscles in the right places proportionately. Interestingly, Zane had also used photographs while preparing for bodybuilding contests in the past which gave him an advantage over other competitors. With this, Zane also gave importance to factors like nutrition and rest to develop well-developed, proportional muscles.
Continuing, Zane also advised fans, “It’s best to pick up a role model you resemble in some respect whether is physical structure or attitude, there are plenty of images out there from which to choose.” Telling fans to compare their physique to their role models, Zane told them to analyze which body part required a workout. The next step he recommended was, “Now work that body part in your workout and check yourself in the mirror after you pump up.”
Afterwards, he indicated how bodybuilders need to reflect on whether they have effectively pumped their body parts. Post this, he told fans to compare the target body part they pumped to their chosen idol’s body part. This is not the only time Zane has shared his powerhouse of knowledge derived from years of bodybuilding experience. Earlier, ‘The Chemist’ had also given sound, practical advice to enhance fitness.

‘The Chemist’ opened up on his training days during an interview with Muscleandfitness. He recalled, “After every set, I would stretch for 15 seconds, and then go into the next set.” In an Instagram post, he also elaborated on the benefits of stretching and gave fans useful advice.

Zane captioned this post, “By adding stretching between each set of an exercise you will get a much better workout, a better pump and more overall flexibility.” Continuing, he recommended fans stretch whenever it was possible for them, not only when they lifted weights or posed.
