Arnold Schwarzenegger once revealed in an interview his inspiration, and the aim he had when he started bodybuilding. Watching Park, he knew what he wanted to look like when he poses for competitions.
Arnold Schwarzenegger got a high basket to aim for
When someone starts a journey, they set an aim to achieve. Arnold Schwarzenegger put that aim to be as good as Reg Park while he poses. Reg Park was 6’2″, and weighed 230 pounds, whereas his muscle definitions made it clear for Arnold to know what he wants to do with his body. Arnold did the same. He scanned his idol’s body and developed a basic routine based on that.
Arnold once recalled Reg’s physique and said, “He had both a huge rib cage and enormous pectorals, and every time I saw his famous side chest shot, I knew that I wanted to soon be as good in the same pose”.
Furthermore, after creating the routine, Arnold worked hard and kept doing it until he made it. He used to train his chest three times a week and would often train back on the same day to make it a full upper body session. And after adhering to this routine, he got his chest a whopping 19″ gain after five years. This took his chest size from 39″ to an enormous 58″.
