4X Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler rarely makes appearances on “outside” podcasts. Besides, he doesn’t need to. His homegrown podcast, Cutler Cast, hosted by him and Mathew M. Daniels, or ‘Manager Matt’, has more than 46K subscribers tuning in for him. Yet, Cutler made an exception for friend and fellow podcaster, Nik Richie. Cutler was recently featured in an episode of Richie’s FACTZ podcast. The duo discussed the world of fitness and professional bodybuilding, and the focus that an athlete requires to become a champion.
Among other topics, Jay Cutler and Nik Richie discussed the importance of a genetic predisposition to excel in bodybuilding. While talking about using other means to excel in the sport, they discussed the inaccurate depiction of bodybuilders and steroids in films.
Jay Cutler clears the misconceptions regarding steroids

During the podcast, Richie inquired Cutler if he had ever observed any bodybuilder taking steroids in the changing rooms ahead of the competition. Cutler cleared Richie’s doubt by explaining that PEDs are not some magic potion that instantly transforms you. Speaking about how false depiction in movies, Cutler says, “With the films and everything, they portray like a guy takes a shot at testosterone and he gets aggressive…like that’s the misconception like I can tell you that.”
Richie continued, “It never made you crazy?” Cutler replied with his own experience, “It never made me crazy.” The discussion turned to how nobody is truly satisfied with what they see in the mirror. Even during his most successful years as a Mr. Olympia, Cutler revealed that he was aware of areas for improvement in his physique. Which is another reason why, the Comeback Kid is on his mission to be ‘Fit for 50’, ahead of turning 50 this year.

Cutler is working on being better than ever
In the 72nd episode of his CutlerCast, he revealed that he is still looking forward to improving his physique. He also explained how he is about to start a 12-week transformation program as a part of his ‘Fit for 50’ challenge. Cutler admitted, “I’m just not satisfied with how I look now.” He added, “The fit for 50 challenge is me against me.”
