During his early days of bodybuilding, Schwarzenegger was a part of the military. It meant preparing for war, staying disciplined, getting familiar with tanks, etc. However, fans were left with a hilarious take on the star’s military stint, after hearing about his dedication to bodybuilding. In a 2022 interview with influencer Logan Paul, Schwarzenegger shared a funny anecdote about his days in the military.

During his career in the forces, Schwarzenegger hadn’t given up on training to become a bodybuilder. In fact, he would still compete in shows and win championships while actively working as a tank driver in the military. However, his secret way to sneak in training while on duty involved the use of a small compartment used to store tools.

Schwarzenegger revealed on the Impaulsive podcast how he would work his way around to get some extra pumps. Instead of storing tools that would help repair the tank, the star had his collapsible bench, some dumbbells, his barbell, some blades, etc. in the storage space. It prompted some hilarious responses from fans in a YouTube shorts video in the comments section.

Fans immediately concluded that while Schwarzenegger was an amazing bodybuilder, his career in the military would have been doomed. Comments from fans on a YouTube shorts video from the same podcast read like, “Swapping tools for weights. Great bodybuilder, terrible tank engineer”, “”We have no tools !”Arnold ” I am the tool “”, and “I trained every day to become the tank” invoked the humorous aspect of the situation. Some fans, meanwhile, quoted The Terminator, with comments like “Tank breaks down in battle Arnold runs to the tool compartment: “lift with me if you want to live””.

The comments also made fun of how Schwarzenegger would potentially react during an actual war, with comments like, “Tank breaks down, Arnold starts to disc throw 45lbs plates at the enemy tanks disabling them”.

Arnold also landed in jail once in the military

Nevertheless, fans enjoyed the star’s hilarious anecdote and his unique experience. While in the military, Schwarzenegger also won the European Junior Championship competition. However, he had to sneak out in the middle of the night to participate in the competition. It landed him in serious trouble.

Since he did not have permission to leave the military base and couldn’t leave during basic training, Schwarzenegger decided to sneak out at night. He made it to the competition and won. However, words of his achievement spread like wildfire, and upon returning, his seniors decided to put him in jail. Although they wanted to teach him a lesson, they soon grew uncomfortable and let him out. Schwarzenegger lived an eventful life, and his anecdotes, as insane as they seem, are fun to listen to.
