Zane’s symmetry has been long acknowledged and appreciated by many bodybuilding legends themselves. In the 24th edition of his blog, Zane talks about his secrets to achieving a symmetrical and well-proportioned physique. “Think of yourself as a sculptor, carving the shape and proportion to your body that you feel is ideal. It’s about knowing what or who you want to look like”, elaborated Zane.
Talking about the importance of having someone to look upto, the legend said, “When you have your role model or ‘idol’ as we say in bodybuilding, study each body part comparing yours to your idol’s.” For Zane, it was Steeve Reeves with his classic physique, like one sculpted by an artist. The father of bodybuilding, Joe Weider, once alluded to Reeves’s physique as “physical perfection”. The latter is the same sentiment that denotes Zane today.
The 3x Olympia winner continued the blog by writing about the importance of a pump for muscle building. He shared a concise tricep routine that would let bodybuilders emulate his own proportions.

Frank Zane had well-developed triceps, which contributed to his overall symmetrical and aesthetic physique. His training regimen included exercises that targeted the triceps with equal attention, such as close-grip bench presses, dips, and triceps extensions. His muscles were characterized by equal development between the lateral, medial, and long-head muscles.
In the blog, Zane provided a quick superset routine which is guaranteed to provide a pump like him. He recommends starting with close grip bench press and then immediately hopping on to dumbbell kickbacks for 12-15 reps. After taking a good 2 minutes break, he advises increasing the weight slightly after every such set. “It’s a concise triceps routine,” added Zane.
