The ongoing 2023 World’s Strongest Man contest will mark the end of veteran strongman Brian Shaw’s career. Shaw started his career one and a half decades ago in 2008. Over the years, he has won several championships and claimed the World’s Strongest Man title four times. Initially, Brian Shaw had planned to give a spectacular finish to his career at the event in 2023. However, the road to achieving that goal became rocky when Shaw contracted a leg infection just 12 weeks shy from the contest. But now, the champion is back and ready to give his best. Moreover, unlike his contemporaries, for Shaw something other than the title and prize is at stake.

Brian Shaw is friends with the English former strongman, Eddie Hall. Though retired, Hall is present at the venue covering the event. As he revealed the list of the six finalists to his viewers, Hall exchanged a few words with the finalist. As expected, one of the finalists was Hall’s friend Brian Shaw. Talking about his target, Shaw revealed something he’d want to do with Hall if he wins.

Making deals with friends at competitions brings a different kind of adrenaline rush that not even the shiny winning trophy can bring. Such playful risks have a charm that not even the 41-year-old strongman could escape. Positive about his win, Shaw proposed a deal to Hall. He said, “Here’s the deal if I win yeah…yeah you should let me put some Tacky in your beard.”

Agreeing to the condition, Hall made him do an elbow shake on the deal. The former strongman continued, “If you win okay like we did to Nick, you get to wax my beard with tacky.” Excited about the enticing offer, Shaw added, “That’s worth winning you’re literally worth it when I keep my bets.”

Soon after this, he sought medical assistance and luckily the infection hadn’t entered his bloodstream. Thus preventing him from being at risk of amputation. However, ending up at the hospital had put his diet and training in the back gear. Although Shaw took the necessary diet and supplements to ensure he doesn’t lose much weight, weight training was still a far-fetched dream. So far, Shaw has shown an impressive performance in the 2023 WSM. In less than 48 hours, Shaw will get to know the results of his hard work at the finals.
