“Get Rid of Them”- Hollywood Action-Hero Arnold Schwarzenegger Never Loved Tattoos on His Body

Getting inked has always been in trend and many celebrities vouch for it. These stars have some of the most impressive tattoos that either go with their personality or mean something deep. However, there is one man in Hollywood, Mr Arnold Schwarzenegger who doesn’t like tattoos.

Growing up like a bodybuilder at a very young age, Arnold focused on showing off his muscles, rather than getting ink on his body; and why not? He puts cans to shame with his titanic biceps. Much later, Arnold revealed those reasons for not getting a tattoo and it looks like he has a point.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a tattoo fan

Back in the 70s, much like today, bodybuilders trained hard on their arms, chest, and calves to jaw-drop audiences in attendance (during events/bodybuilding competitions).

In such events, each judge scores these freaks of nature by looking at symmetry, clarity, and size. With tattoos on their bodies, it may become hard for them to give accurate scores.

Coming back to Arnold Schwarzenegger, winning a Mr. Olympia title was his dream, and he did not want tattoos to come as an obstacle. Having said that, the Styrian Oak, today, is fine with the idea of temporary tattoos that can be erased easily.

“I’ve changed my looks by developing my body, training my muscles. Someone else does that with tattoos and a great thing about those temporary tattoos is that you can get rid of them any time you want,” said Arnold, who did not get any tattoos.

Although, as a fun fact, there was a movie for which he did get a temporary tattoo.

When did he have that tattoo?

Shooting the action thriller named Sabotage in 2014, Arnold appeared in the movie with a brand new haircut and a tattoo on his neck. To create the feel of a modern-day action hero, Schwarzenegger received that tattoo and it was refreshing to see him in that new role. Interestingly, he also discussed how his kids loved that and thought it was cool.

Surely, there are exceptions to some bodybuilders who ink their bodies, but most of them want people to focus on their muscles.

The hardcore training methods to become muscular are an obvious need for Olympia competitions. Having tattoos might have caused a hindrance to the people who judge the event. And Arnie being as focused as he always seemed, chose to flaunt his muscles instead of tattoos.
