Mobile phones are a 21st-century necessity and an integral part of daily lives. Imagining a day without it sounds almost like an impossibility, but IFBB pro bodybuilder Zack ‘King’ Khan disregards the necessity of carrying mobile phones everywhere. In a recent YouTube short, the 42-year-old bodybuilding champion advised to “ban” mobile phones at the gym. Hinting at the addiction that impacts 47% of America’s population, ZKK speaks his heart out.

From calling it an unhealthy sport to commenting on Big Ramy’s surprising finish in the 2022 Mr. Olympia, ZKK has been vocal about multiple concerns that continue to haunt the sport of bodybuilding. Strong words of advice coming from Zack ‘King’ Khan

Bodybuilding demands dedication and passion, and Khan is in no mood to promote the ways that can possibly act as a distraction. Making himself clear, he stated in the video,Fuc**** mobile phones should be banned in the gym.” Talking about the addiction that’s restricting one’s ability to concentrate, Zack remarked, “If you can’t live without your mobile phone while you are working out, I am sorry there is something f***** wrong.”

While working out in the gym, one needs to stay focused; the concentration should be on the weights and the bars. Thus, working with mobile phones can be a big distraction. Citing his own example, he adds how he prefers to keep his mobile phone in the car. He also reveals that in case he is carrying his mobile phone in the gym, he chooses to keep it in airplane mode when he is tiring his body out for the better.

Thus, he refers to keeping all the distractions down. Reiterating his statement, Khan remarked, “It’s my time to destress, use the iron, use the weights.” For him working out in the gym without any distractions is important to get out his “aggression.” Getting a little cheeky, the bodybuilder quickly added, because if I do not get the aggression out, I might end up smashing someone.” 

Who is Zack Khan?

Drawing inspiration from legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, Khan started training at his home. He then started training at the local gym. Upon the persuasion of his gym owner, Khan enrolled in his first bodybuilding competition, which he eventually won. Gradually he started to make a name for himself in the sport.

In 2000, he secured the fourth spot in the IFBB U.K. heavyweight division. He competed in the same contest eight more times, and every time, he managed to be in the top four. Khan finally secured the super-heavyweight class, overall title, and IFBB Pro status in 2009. Khan now remains active on his social media platform and keeps sharing bodybuilding tips with his followers.
