Winning consecutively for three years since 2019, the Canadian bodybuilder, Chris Bumstead, is a rising star. Having won multiple titles, he is a tough competitor to defeat. He was just 14 years old, when he decided that he wanted to pursue a career in professional bodybuilding. With support from his parents, the young lad pursued his dreams and turned them into reality.

However, his road to success was never easy. Not only did he compromised his social life, but he also had to deal with health issues. In a recently unearthed video, the bodybuilding star talked about his painful experience during his Kidney biopsy.
Chris talks his heart out about his painful journey
When Chris made his debut for Mr. Olympia in 2017, the fans were impressed; finishing second in the “Classic Physique” category that year, the expectations from him were high. However, the following year things did not go as planned. Though he still had an impressive physique to boost, tough times awaited him.
Talking about what followed next, Chris started his narration seven-eight weeks after 2018’s guest posting in LA. He said that he had to be rushed to the emergency room because of deteriorating health. After a long three-night wait, the reports showed he had kidney issues.
As a result, he had to undergo dialysis. The news shook Chris, understandably for youngsters like him who just started their careers, health issues like such can derail the plans. Sharing his experience with fans, Chris, in the podcast episode, talked about the pain that he had to go through. He recounted how, “They put in a long needle and slowly froze it close to my kidney.”

The said time was not physically but emotionally draining for him as well. For a young Chris, the whole episode was overwhelming; even as he retold the story, he could hardly control his emotions. In his podcast vividly explained how the doctors, “Put like a 16 gauge needle and with a little clip on end.”

He further explains how he felt when he was administered the shoot. He quoted,” it goes in and touches the tip of your kidney that kind of shoots like a gun.” But thankfully, the bodybuilder soon recovered. Towards the end of the video, he expresses his gratitude and shares that he is happy since the experience could have been much more.

However, as the best could have, Bumstead came back stronger; not only did he clinch the title in 2019, but even for this year’s Mr. Olympia, he remains the biggest competitor.
