Bodybuilders like Lou Ferrigno and Flex Wheeler are very popular in the community but they never got the top reward, which is Mr. Olympia.

Some just competed for a couple of years, and some just gave up after the first try. Mr. Olympia is the most prestigious award in bodybuilding history and is wanted by everyone.

Despite not being able to taste the glory of Mr. Olympia. These bodybuilders found another way of venting their guilt. A man like Lou Ferrigno, who has hearing loss, tried out his luck in Hollywood and was successful. Even without the title, they are doing fine in their lives.

Underrated bodybuilders like Lou Ferrigno

Let’s start with the Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno. Ferrigno is a retired professional bodybuilder who has won IFBB, Mr. Universe, two times consecutively. He also has a great acting career in Hollywood. He starred in the TV series The Incredible Hulk (1977–1982). As a kid with hearing loss, he was always hungry for power. This led to him liking the comic book character Hulk and eventually ending up as the Hulk himself.

Ferrigno struggled a lot because of his hearing loss, losing a lot of film contracts. He was also bullied when he was in school, and he also had an abusive father. Despite all the issues, Ferrigno showed the world that if you are truly motivated, you can do anything. He is a living example for the deaf community.

Kai Greene is also an example of an underrated bodybuilder who deserved the Olympia title. Greene has been in the second season of the Netflix series Stranger Things. He also sometimes gives motivational speeches and has a good fan base in the bodybuilding community.

After he lost in 2015, he didn’t come back to the Olympia scene because he thought something was going on in the back of the title.

Flex Wheeler is an American bodybuilder. Arnold Schwarzenegger said that Wheeler is one of the best bodybuilders he has ever seen. The same goes for Ronnie Coleman who mentioned Wheeler as his best competitor.

Despite all the fame he has, he has never gotten to taste the Mr. Olympia title. He even has the Arnold Classic title four times in his bag.

Wheeler retired in 2000 but continued competing till 2002. These bodybuilders have shown us that even though sometimes you don’t get the thing you want, even after a lot of hard work. But this is what makes them unique from the other bodybuilders. Yes, they never won Mr. Olympia, but they have won the hearts of the bodybuilding community.
