In 2021, Frank Zane, the retired American professional, talked about what hurts the joints while one workout. Sharing his deep insight, Zane remarked, “Actually, what hurts the joints are the weights.” Adding more, he reflected on how working with heavy weights without a proper warm-up takes a toll on the body.

After years of working out, he reflected, “I’ve learned a lot of what not to do, and I avoid the things that are hazardous.” Zane thus advocated healthy workout regimes. Pushing the limit beyond can hence adversely impact the body and could lead to serious injuries. Even though it has been decades since Zane retired, he still enjoys training today and intends to continue for the rest of his life.

He adds that working out helps him to stay fit and healthy. In case he misses out on his workout, then he does not feel right. Talking about it more, he added, “Injuries tend to occur more if I’m not in shape.” However, he does not train heavy. He keeps it toned down and works doing repetitions. For him, getting pumped is the main thing. Apart from training on a regular basis, Zane also takes his time out to write about bodybuilding and healthy eating.

The importance of getting the right carbs ft. Zane

In bodybuilding, diet plays as much of a crucial role as workouts. Reiterating its importance, the 80-year-old, in his blog, wrote“The amount of carbohydrates you eat daily has everything to do with how you look and how you feel.” He discusses how a balanced diet contains the proper amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and lipids for one to maintain and be healthy.

He is a notable proponent of healthy eating and stresses the significance of consuming enough carbohydrates to make “yourself feel good with energy.” He adds that “strenuous carb-cutting” should only be adopted when it’s necessary to lose body fat and is advised by experts. Zane remains active on his social media and keeps sharing insightful details on bodybuilding.
