He talked about how he overdid his weight training, which would often result in injuries. While training to become a bodybuilder, a frequent error is pushing yourself too hard. While it is important to test one’s limits, rest is also equally important. Frank Zane realized early on that it was difficult to draw the line between these two situations. It was difficult to find out what worked and what didn’t.

The veteran bodybuilder also reflected on how it was difficult to find out what worked unless one tried it beforehand. He recommended, “I was extremely meticulous with my journals and my photos…But you have to get eyes on yourself.”
