Khaled Pirzadeh was arrested in 2018 on charges of “assembly and collusion with the intention of disrupting the security of the country” and “insulting the leadership.” However, in 2021, he was shifted to Ahvaz prison. From there on, it was a tragic life for the bodybuilder. In the voice note, Khaled revealed his disastrous situation. He said, “I am talking to you from the dungeons of oppression and tyranny in Iran. For more than sixteen months, I have been hospitalized in Ahvaz Central Prison due to the injuries caused by the brutal agents of the Islamic republic.”

During these years, the bodybuilder has had several health issues from the ill prison behavior. He suffered from a broken left leg, a fractured spine, kidney failure, and heart issues. The former bodybuilder has said to have had more than 6000 pain relievers and 900 serums administered since all his injuries.

On the other hand, the authorities deny all this news about torturing the prisoner. In addition, Khaled also did multiple hunger strikes to raise awareness about the ill-treatment Iranian prisoners go through. He disclosed, “I said all this so that you know that freedom of speech and human rights in the Republic of Iran is a big lie.”
