2019 arrived. This was when the concentration of toxic blood due to poor kidney function led to the amputation of his right leg. For a career that revolved around creating a lean aesthetic body, coming to terms with the new realities of his life was no less than a heartbreak for the Sultan of Symmetry. However, he had much to endure for the battle had just begun.

To offer quick relief, he was administered several opiates and painkillers, but nothing worked. Cutting to the chase, frustration was on the upward curve and days went by as Wheeler confirmed, “I can’t tell you how many days I screamed in bed.

While talking with Muscle And Health, Flex Wheeler said, “The type of pain that I go through causes you to have very, very dark thoughts. We’re talking life and death here with these thoughts happening 24/7, even when I was sleeping. They took me from my hospital bed and put me in a mental institution because I just lost it.”

Now, fast forwarding four years later, Flex Wheeler has once again become a victim of a serious health crisis, but this time, the events that led up to this moment are quite different from the previous time.

In the latest Instagram post, a teary-eyed Wheeler sighed as he struggled to articulate his thoughts. After surviving over 40 surgeries, the Sultan is yet again suffering from a lethal side effect—something the medical health professionals conveniently overlooked while prescribing the concerned medicines. Wheeler was annoyed, and for once, mistook his case for Alzheimer’s as his hands refused to stay stable.

In the video, Wheeler opened up about a new drug called Amitriptyline he has been taking for relieving pain and its anti-depressant effects. However, according to Wheeler, it has made his life a “living hell” for the last two months. Further, he described the adverse effects it had on him, and said, “I’ve been experiencing like extreme tremors, I’ve been shaking so much and like forgetting my thoughts.”
