

Ronnie Coleman, “The King” of the bodybuilding world, has won the Mr. Olympia title eight times. He is one of the most incredibly muscular guys ever stepping up on the stage. Ronnie Coleman made an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” in 2001 and opened up about his career before winning Mr. Olympia.

Like many other entities, even Coleman had a modest start to his career. He used to work as a police officer, and due to his “superhuman physique,” he sometimes scared people off.

In the show with Jay Leno, Ronnie revealed one of the instances where he asked a guy to pull over. He said that because of Ronnie’s size, the individual was scared of getting beaten up by him.

“You know, the first thing they do is jump out of the car, and I jump out of the car. He sees me, he falls on the ground, puts his arms out, I tell him to get up, and the first thing he says is don’t hit me.“, said Ronnie.

Ronnie Coleman got a bachelor’s degree in accounting, but due to his lack of experience, he could not find a job. He then took up a job at Domino’s and started delivering pizzas.

Ronnie thought of changing jobs after two years of working with Dominos. He started taking interviews for police as it was the only job that didn’t require prior experience. He breezed through the three-month procedure and started working for the Arlington Police in 1989.

Ronnie’s colleagues introduced him to the Metroflex gym, where he met Brian Dobson. Dobson was the proprietor of Metroflex gym and prepared Ronnie for the Mr. Texas competition.

In 1990, Ronnie won his first bodybuilding competition, where he defeated his trainer, Dobson. Coleman then stepped in for Mr. Olympia competitions and, between 1992 and 1997, made multiple efforts to win. He won his first title in 1998 by defeating Kenneth Wheeler; since then, he has never looked back.
