The bodybuilding champion openly spoke about his childhood struggles and living in poverty. He also revealed his hunger for achieving more and earning since the age of 15.

These struggles only made Arnold Schwarzenegger stronger. After becoming California’s governor in 2003, he was once again tested due to a controversial proposal. This proposal was given by Sally Lieber, a Democrat representing Mountain View, California.
According to this proposal, there must be a ban on spanking children below the age of 3. Any violator of this ban would face strict punishment. This punishment could also include sending the violator to jail for a year.

In an interview with Eastbay Times, Schwarzenegger finally broke his silence on this controversial proposal. During his interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke about doubts regarding enforcing such a proposal. He also spoke about the need to hear Sally’s views about this proposal’s enforcement.

Schwarzenegger said that any laws for safeguarding children were beneficial. However, he was non-committal and spoke about the need to know more about Sally’s proposal.

Schwarzenegger also spoke about a terrible childhood incident he saw. “Farm lady came with the cane,” went to her son, and “whacked him with the stick.” This incident left an unforgettable impression on his mind. “It was … wild — not wild then, but wild looking back now,” he said.

He openly told how he got smacks for almost everything. Furthermore, Schwarzenegger frankly spoke about the time when a teacher once gave him a slap. This clearly reflects why Schwarzenegger took a favorable stance toward this proposal.
