Winning Mr. Olympia is considered a dream come true for any bodybuilder. However, what comes next after achieving such a remarkable feat can be a challenging question to answer for any bodybuilder. The four-time Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler reached the crossroads o his life after his greatest feat, unlike one of his predecessors, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It is not uncommon that bodybuilding fans often draw similarities between bodybuilding legends. No doubt that Schwarzenegger made the best use of his bodybuilding success to carve a respectable niche for himself in acting and politics. Cutler, however, couldn’t relate to the Austrian’s life.

The four-time Mr. Olympia champion has had to wait for a long time before conquering the grandest bodybuilding stage. Not to mention, he came from a time when Ronnie ‘The Kind’ Coleman was the reigning champion. He came second four times before getting his hands on the title in 2006. However, the beast from Massachusetts recently revealed that he was rather clueless about what the next step was after achieving the reward for his lifelong hard work.
“All the stepping stones that I took between being a Team Champion, to getting my pro card to winning my first Pro show, making my way up the ladder. Now I was stuck because there is no further to go”, he said on the Factz Podcast.
The 49-year-old bodybuilder also revealed that he was advised to get into Hollywood, like the Austrian Oak. However, Cutler added that Arnie had a well-thought-out plan that laid a foundation stone for many, but not every bodybuilder resonates with the same dream of being a Hollywood star.

“Everyone says go to acting and then it’s like all of a sudden you become a politician like Arnold set the blueprint. But at the same time, everyone has different goals for the endgame,” Cutler told the interviewer. However, this is not the first time that Jay Cutler has opened up about his opinion on the Austrian’s illustrious career.
Jay Cutler made a strong statement about Arnold Schwarzenegger
The seven-time Mr. Olympia dominated the stage of bodybuilding with his chiseled physique. However, Cutler once made a controversial statement, in an interview with Generation Iron, when he said that the legend didn’t have good competitors in that era. As went further Cutler said, “I would love the historians to chime in on this and tell me how many Olympias Arnold won without a competitor against him.”

Cutler became the center of discussion after the statement and later uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel revealing how he was mistaken about his views. The video was titled, “I Owe Arnold Schwarzenegger an Apology”. Overall, the incident highlights that every era of bodybuilding was different from others. And the demands sought out of bodybuilders have changed as the sport evolved. While getting into the field of acting and politics turned out good for Schwarzenegger, Cutler had other priorities after the sport.
