However, it didn’t come easy. Coleman had to put all his strength into being the ‘King’ among all great bodybuilders. The amount of concentration he put into his workouts and the discipline he maintained in his diet is unbelievable. It is the product of his hard training and smart eating that he could be the champion for eight consecutive years.
The routine diet of Ronnie Coleman in his champion days
A professional bodybuilder has to maintain his body throughout the year. However, it has to be done with preciseness when the competitions arrive. The bodybuilders and their teams look into all the details meticulously and plan their diets and workouts accordingly. The fat percentage, cuts, muscle definition, and several other factors are to be managed concisely.
The diet plays an equally important role as the training. Coleman once said, “The basics in my opinion are a multivitamin, amino acids (BCAA), and whey protein isolate. The isolate is lower calorie, and it’s easier to digest.
He added, “There are others, of course, but those in my opinion are the absolute must haves. Food is obviously very important too, but I don’t put one over the other. You need to pay serious attention to both.”
The diet Coleman had during his competitions
During the competition and before that, diet plays an incredible role. Therefore, Coleman said, “I tell people all the time that the reason I was so successful at bodybuilding was because I was surrounded by great trainers and nutritionists.” Without proper guidance and instructions from these specialists, a person can’t excel.
